About Me
I am a costume designer based in Winnipeg. I believe that costumes are a crucial form of storytelling, and that a well designed costume can communicate nuances of a character which would otherwise go unnoticed.
I believe that intelligent design can make any production more cohesive, communicate time period and place, heighten character and relationship, and draw the audience into a fully immersive world.

The Bellefontaine Bridegroom
The Bellefontaine Bridegroom
Looking Glass Theatre
A new work by Manitoba Playwright Scot Moir, the Bellefontaine Bridegroom was an absurdist play in which I played a living statue. The play was an exploration of the Greek myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, set in the 1960’s. I also designed the costumes for this role, and for my character I combined elements of ancient Grecian styles with 1960’s fashion, as well as using body paint to make myself look like marble.
A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol
Looking Glass Theatre
A period accurate portrayal of Dicken’s classic novel. I costumed this entire show using thrifted costume pieces and materials, for only $650. I constructed numerous garments and bonnets from scratch, including the robes for The Ghost of Christmas Past and The Ghost of Christmas Present, as well as a wearable puppet for the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Looking Glass Theatre
An adaptation of the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. The design for this show incorporated elements of classic 17th century fashion combined with touches of a modern punk rock aesthetic, which involved drafting and building multiple 17th century style coats.
My Creative Expertise
In all my work I strive to create a distinct visual identity for each project, prioritizing sustainability and ethical considerations while working creatively within financial constraints. I utilize my varied skillset and extensive knowledge to bring a vision to life.
1. Design
With an eye for colour, fabric, and fashion, I craft visuals that are not only eye-catching, but serve to tie together all the elements of a production. I always keep the larger picture in mind.
2. Garment Creation
As an accomplished sewist I have the ability to create full garments from scratch, from sourcing fabric, to pattern drafting and construction. I can also perform alterations to tailor costumes to actors, and do repairs throughout the run of a show.
3. Thrifted Materials
I use secondhand garments and fabric whenever possible, in order to remain both environmentally and financially sustainable, as well as to avoid perpetuating unethical and exploitative garment construction practices.
4. Collaboration
Beyond costume design, I have a four year theatre degree which has given me a wide knowledge of professional theatre practices. I have experience as an actor and stage manager, have hung lights, and have produced my own shows. All this experience allows me to collaborate well with every member of a creative team.
